Request for Quotation - Custom Embossed Leather Binder

We are sourcing a custom-branded version of an existing product and are requesting a formal quotation. We intend an initial production run with repeat orders to follow. Please quote against the exact specification below and return unit prices at the listed quantity breaks.

What we need first: the price of one custom SAMPLE. Before any bulk order we will buy a single sample binder with our artwork. Please quote the cost of one custom sample (each of options A/B/C) and its lead time, and say whether that cost is credited against a bulk order. We are planning an initial run of 100-500 units with repeat orders, so please also quote the 100/200/500 ladder. A physical sample is how we choose our supplier.

1. Reference product (build target)

We want a binder built exactly like this retail item, substituting our own cover artwork:

Size: A5 (approx. 148 x 210 mm page area), refillable
Cover: faux / PU leather, oxblood-red (also quote brown + black)
Ring mechanism: 6-ring metal, A5 6-hole spacing (Filofax standard: 5.5 mm holes, two groups of 3, 19 mm within group, 70 mm between groups)
Cover decoration: full-cover deep 3D emboss of a detailed illustration inside an ornate frame border
Metal hardware (required, like the reference): 4 x brass metal corner guards, decorative brass star/flower rivets (studs), and a wrap strap with a painted metal clasp featuring a set gemstone
Capacity: to hold 100+ A5 pages comfortably

2. Our customization

Replace the stock dragon artwork with our supplied artwork on BOTH the front and back covers (full-cover). Art files are provided (see Section 5): high-resolution line art plus a layered PSD.

3. Quotes requested - please price these THREE options separately

B	Emboss + color / "painting"	Option A plus full-color rendering of the art on the embossed leather (the multi-tone "painted" look).
C	Emboss + foil	Option A plus metallic foil accents (gold/silver/copper) on selected elements (logo, frame, title).

On the "painted" option (please read): we do not assume the color is applied by hand. Modern shops print full color and texture directly onto embossed leather and even raised metal using DTG / UV flatbed / digital printers. Please state exactly which process you use for Option B (DTG, UV-print, screen, pad-print, transfer, or hand-paint) and price it as that process. We are comparing multiple suppliers and will not accept a hand-painting premium for what is a digital print. If you have a UV/DTG line that prints on leather, quote it - that is what we expect.

4. For EACH option (A, B, C) please provide

Unit price at MOQ, 100 pcs, 200 pcs, and 500 pcs
One-time tooling / emboss die / foil die cost
Sample cost and lead time (we require a custom sample before bulk)
Bulk production lead time
Genuine-leather price difference (optional alt)
FOB port, carton pack-out, unit weight, and whether Alibaba Trade Assurance is accepted
The exact decoration process used for Option B (see note above)

5. Artwork supplied

We supply, for each cover, an emboss-ready line-art version (for the die) and a full-color version (for the DTG / color print). Two front-cover designs are shown; we will pick one final design with the chosen supplier.

For the emboss die, use the "_simplified_" line-art file of the chosen design (bolder, simplified line weight that survives a leather press). Use the matching _colored file for the color / DTG print option. Please return a physical emboss proof at our line weights before cutting the final die.

Layered source: front_cover_detailed.psd (available on request / attached). We can supply 1-color die-ready vector art for the emboss/foil dies on request.

6. Order intent
